Lady Love: Hathor—Venus

Lady Love: Hathor—Venus

Isis, in her role as the Nourisher, is recognized as Hathor.

Hathor is actually two words, Het-hor, which is commonly translated as “house of of Horus“.

The first part—Het, translated as “house”, has a bigger meaning than a simple house. It actually means the womb as a Matrix within which something originates, takes form, and develops into full maturity.

The womb provides nourishment and protection. As such, Hethor provides both nourishment and protection. Horus represents the realized divine principle, and Horus is recognized by various names/attributes as he develops from infancy to maturity within the cosmic womb.

Hathor represents the matrix of the metaphysical spiritual principle, providing spiritual nourishment, healing, joy, lovemaking, music, and cheerfulness.

The Ancient Egyptian texts describe Isis of the 10,000 Names in her role of Het-heru as:

The Cow Heru-sekha, who brings forth all things.
Who nourished the child Horus with her milk.
Lady of joy and gladness.
Lady of Love

As the model for cosmic nourishment of all kinds, Hathor is associated with several related functions. We will briefly mention a few such applications:

A. Lady Love—Venus
B. The Cosmic Nourisher
C. The Heavenly Seven Maidens /7 Heavenly Realms
D. The Healer
E. Her Tree of Life
F. The Ultimate Shrine—House of Horus/Re-horakhti
G. Travelers Escort—Astarte

A. Lady Love—Venus

The dictionary tells us that the origin of the name (or word) Venus is WENOS. Wenos or Wanas is actually an Egyptian word meaning ‘animated companionship’, ‘genial’, ‘sociable’, ‘cheerful’, and ‘pleasurable’.

The noun form of we-nos is A-nesa [Aa-NES-sa], meaning ‘maiden’, with all that it implies.

The Egyptian Venus, in her all-encompassing name of Hathor, represents the matrix of the metaphysical spiritual principle, providing spiritual nourishment, healing, joy, lovemaking, music, and cheerfulness.
