Nut -- The Spirit of the Sky

Nut represents the sky as matrix of all—the cosmic source of nourishment.

Nut as the Spirit of the Sky is prominently depicted in the resting places of the Ancient Egyptians—in the coffin and coffin lids and on the ceiling of tomb chambers.[see images at end of this excerpt]

Nut is depicted as a star studded woman arched over the heavens.

In one of my favorite song Spirit in the Sky , Norman Greenbaum echos the role of Nut -- The Egyptian Spirit in the Sky":

When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best

The mention of "Jesus" in the song is exactly as the role of Horus in the [Ancient] Egyptian traditions!
