Act 10 – Seshat <\/b>(Safkhet, Sesat, Seshet, Sesheta)<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

Stage Summary of Act 10<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Two Segments:<\/span><\/p>\n

1.Pyramid Building Dance:<\/b><\/p>\n

– Seshat entering the empty stage seems to be writing everything with a pen \u2013 writing in air.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– A group of 6 female builders arrives and listens\/watches her telling them what to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Dancers create a spatial human pyramid standing on top of each other.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Dancers bring blocks to build a pyramid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– As they are creating a pyramid shape, Thoth enters the stage holding a pen and writing on a tablet \u2013 recording the work. Seshat continues writing in the air.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Seshat and Thoth move close to each other, away from the 6 dancers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Shine the light only on Seshat and Thoth for a few seconds<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

–<\/span> Dark screen and silence<\/span><\/p>\n

2.The Dual Seshat and Thoth Dance:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

– Lights are back on the stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– Seshat is facing Thoth \u2013 both in each\u2019s typical writing modes[in air AND on a tablet].\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– They move towards each other \u2013 dancing separately and together \u2013 she begins while he is waiting \u2013 then he begins writing on a tablet. They perform together emphasizing learning from memory[writing in air] and recording[writing on a tablet].<\/span><\/p>\n

– Stage goes dark.<\/span><\/p>\n
