3.0 out of 5 stars I don't understand it, but that is my fault.

I've given the book 3 stars because it is well-written and intellectually addresses the issue. Despite myself being very familiar with Egyptology, getting more than a vague understanding of the ancient Egyptian psyche regarding the cosmos is next to impossible for me. I have two of Lubicz's books, which are supposed to the the 'Bible' for those seeking to understand the ancient Egyptians. Gadalla's book is at least more understandable from a 'modern western' point of view than those.I read Lubicz's books with a complete lack of understanding. The problem is that the topic is simply so esoteric and 'different' that it defies understanding by anybody except the intellectual and academic specialist. The interrelationship of the Egyptians with their gods, and Egyptian magic are more understandable topics, and the works of both Bob Brier and Wallis Budge I can understand.

This is a great book, it definitely gives a different outlook on ancient Egypt compared to what you see on tv. I also appreciate the authors way of making it easier to understand.

It is bunch of baloney. I undestand it is possible to interprete Egyptian culture and spirituality not only from the standpoint of professional Egyptologists. Without doubt one can wirite about Egyptian deities (netroo) and rituals e.g. from the point of view of Hermeticist. But author's theses about four fundamental physical forces, about physical cosmology etc. are shocking and unheard-of. Ths way of thinking goes astray.

I think Mr. Gadella is a wonderful author and egyptologist, but his ideas are not as revolutionary as they are made out to be. A book written in the early 80's titled Egyptian Religion put forth a similar theory about the neterw and there is a small but growing religion called kemetic orthodoxy started in the 70's that follows a very parallel theology

This New Expanded Edition of the book is divided into five parts containing a total of 21 chapters and one appendix.

Part I: The Egyptian Mystical Monotheism consists of one chapter:

Chapter 1: The Most Religious will cover the deep mystical meaning of monotheism for the deeply religious Egyptians as well as an overview of their cosmic consciousness.

Part II: The Principles and Principals of Creation consists of three chapters 2 through 4:

Chapter 2: The Animating Energies of The Universe will cover the scientific understanding by the Egyptians of the state of the world prior to creation and the animating divine energies of the creation cycle.

Chapter 3: The Pictorial Metaphysical Images will cover the scientific basis for the Egyptians’ pictorial symbolism of metaphysical concepts and the process by which the Egyptian ideographs were manifested in such figurations.

Chapter 4: The Egyptian Creation Process Accounts will cover an overview of the three primary phases of the Creation Cycle.

Part III: The Creation Numerical Codes has ten chapters—chapters 5 through 14:

Chapter 5: Numerology of the Creation Process will cover number mysticism in Ancient Egypt, and analysis of the numbers two, three and five

Chapter 6: The Dualistic Nature will cover the dualistic nature of creation and analysis of 14 various applications in the Ancient Egyptian system.
